HISTORY
The Globe is one of London’s longest running nightclubs. Opened in 1960 by Roy Stewart, a Jamaican actor and bodybuilder, well known for his roles in movies from Carry On Up The Jungle to Live And Let Die, the venue swiftly became a legendary fixture of London’s nightlife.
Frequented by Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, The Clash and Bob Marley, The Globe became the place to be. Its notoriety was such, that even Mick Jones of The Clash named his album after it and wrote the title song about the nightclub.
The Globe became the only club in West London where the music and dance floor portrayed the spirit and freedom of its guests.
